The 2015 Perodua Axia is Malaysia’s nation’s first energy efficient vehicle (EEV). 

Its competes with other A-segment hatchbacks like the Kia Picanto, Suzuki Alto and Hyundai i10.

All Axia variants are powered by the naturally aspirated, 1KR-DE2 three-cylinder electronic fuel injected engine that produces 65hp at 6,000rpm and 90Nm at 3,600Nm.

There are two gearbox options – a five speed stick shift and a four-speed automatic. 

Fuel consumption for the former is rated at 21.6km per litre, while the latter will return 20.1km for one litre of fuel.
